You can quickly review who sees your future posts, how people can find you, and what information is on your profile. It’s the simplest and fastest way to get a handle on your overall privacy.
Taking Control of Your Audience
One of the most powerful settings is controlling your default audience. This decides who sees your new posts if you don’t change the audience for a specific one. Head to Settings > Privacy > Your activity and look for “Who can see your future posts?” Setting this to Friends instead of Public means only people you’ve connected with will see your updates by default. It’s a great safety net for those times you post in a hurry.
Locking Down Your Past Posts
What about all those posts you’ve shared over the years? You don’t have to go back and change each one manually. In that same Privacy menu, find the “Limit past posts” option. This powerful feature will change all your old Public posts to be visible only to Friends. It’s a one-click way to clean up your timeline and make sure your past sharing is only for the people you trust today.
Managing Your Profile Information
Your profile contains details like your email address, phone number, and birthday. You can control who sees each piece of information individually. Go to your profile and click Edit Details. For each item, you’ll see an icon that lets you change the audience. Consider setting sensitive information like your phone number to Only Me, while keeping lighter details, like your hometown, visible to Friends.
